Wireless Embedded Systems Engineer
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile electrical engineer with a strong background in electronic circuits and embedded systems for full-time employment in the Baltimore/Washington DC area. You will be responsible for designing and developing hardware and firmware for miniaturized, low power wireless systems for biomedical and environmental sensing applications. The position requires demonstrated experience implementing ZigBee, Bluetooth, and/or other wireless technologies for telemetry applications. Applicant should also have experience with instrumentation design, analog circuit design, and microcontroller coding. Some experience with FPGA and DSPs is a plus, as is experience with low power circuits and energy scavenging. Most project work will involve discrete component design, but experience with ASICs is a plus. Exposure to and experience in MEMS/Microsystems is also plus. This is a hands-on job; applicant will be involved in all aspects of product lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, fabrication, and test.

Mechanical / Materials Design Engineer
Job Description:
A mechanical / materials / biomedical engineer with demonstrated experience in medical device development and/or microelectronics packaging to work on the development of scientific and medical sensor platforms. Candidate must have an aptitude and desire for hands-on laboratory work with strong team oriented skills and abilities.
Experience:
- Experience in design engineering of medical devices or laboratory processing and test apparatus
- Background developing injection molded plastic and epoxy based encasements for circuit board housings
- Proficient using industry grade CAD tools such as Solidworks, Autocad, etc
- Understanding of quality control systems involved with medical device development in a regulatory environment
- Experience developing apparatus for various polymer coating systems
- Exposure to the following is preferred: encasements for multichip module systems, harsh environment packaging and testing, fluidic system design, optical sensors, and fluorescent transducers
- Preferable to have previous knowledge of eutectic materials and thin/thick film processing in developing assembly processes at the die and PCB level
Education
PhD preferred in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent; BS & MS considered with appropriate experience.
Knowledge
Job requires a self-motivated person with a strong technical background along with hands-on experience integrating, testing and troubleshooting electrical systems. Candidate must have strong communication and inter-personal skills to work effectively in a fast paced team environment. Candidate must have strong analytical and writing skills to analyze, design, test and integrate systems. As a member of an R&D engineering team, this individual will support package failure diagnostics, system design, external contract management, and circuit/sensor analysis.
